A picturesque winter scene was captured in a Long Island yard during a heavy snow event in New York, and much of the United States, on Sunday.X user @CACGraphics posted this footage of what they described as “heavy snow” from Winter Storm Fern falling at their home in South Shore.

A heavy, snow-laden tree limb fell onto a moving car on Vine Rock Street in Dedham. Occupants, including a young boy, were unhurt; crews cleared the scene.

Follow as a winter storm is expected to bring heavy snowfall, icy roads and cold temperatures from the southern states to the Northeast.

The latest forecast puts Central Park at 12 inches of snow, and that’s still the highest snowfall seen there in several years. The last time New York’s weather station in the park saw more than a foot of snow from a single storm was in 2021.

A winter storm warning has been expanded to include Cayuga, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego and Wayne counties, the National Weather Service says. Snow forecasts for the area include 5 to 8 inches of snow, some of which will fall heavily and quickly.

There is a chance of rain this morning in northern Wisconsin. Another system will enter the region in the late morning, bringing a cold front and heavy snow. Winds will reach 15-25 mph in the afternoon. Snow will continue through tonight, clearing on Monday.
