Scan processing: Warpable television A brief overview of the video synthesis technique known as Scan processing. Using an oscilloscope or vector display you can redraw a television image in any arbitrary form you’d like. It is my favourite video technique. The image becomes an object that I can sculpt with my video synthesizer. The most famous implementations of Scan processing are the Rutt Etra synthesizer, and the Scanimate.
