Housing First didn’t fail. We failed to fund it. Housing First isn’t just giving someone a key and walking away; it’s housing plus support: mental health care, addiction treatment, case management, and a trained workforce to help people stabilize and heal. But most communities never had the resources to do it right. As @marcythompson912 from the @naeh_endhomelessness explains, the model works when it’s implemented the way it was intended.
