Here’s how I teach my preschoolers to write their names. First, I write it in black on the top lines to show them the correct form. Second, I use a yellow marker (instead of dotted letters) on the middle line, adding a black dot and a little wispy line to show where and how to start each letter. Finally, the third line is blank so they can try on their own. I sit with them in small groups to guide letter formation and gradually let them practice more independently.
