A Quick Guide to Matting Artwork I really struggled cutting matts for art shows when I was a new art teacher, so I am making this video for my younger self! Start by measuring the artwork, and I always write that down in pencil on the back. I added four inches to both numbers for a two inch frame. For this artwork, it was 6x7.5 inches so I will cut a 10x11.5 piece of mat board. If you want a 3 inch frame, you would add 6 inches etc. Then use the cutting guide to draw out your frame so you can do
