Fuel systems in single-engine piston aircraft are generally categorized into two types: Gravity-feed Systems and Fuel-pump Systems. With fuel tanks in the wings, high-wing airplanes use gravity to deliver fuel from the tanks to the engine. Low-wing airplanes don’t have that luxury.
