A filament located in the southern hemisphere erupted this evening beginning at approximately 21:55 UTC. Attached is a short video courtesy of the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) using the 304 angstroms channel. A quick look using multiple wavelengths indicate that a coronal mass ejection (CME) is likely, however will most likely be directed south of the Sun-Earth line.
