It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Jerry Crompton Sr., known to so many of us simply as “Uncle Jer.” He was part of the foundation of Avalon and a proud member of both the Avalon String Band Hall of Fame and the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Hall of Fame. Jerry was more than a former Music Director and Board member. He was an incredible musician and mentor who pushed others to do their best because he believed deeply in effort, accountability, and pride in what you do
